Working with the State of Illinois, the IoTTC will provide a prescriptive curriculum for data science skills based on the Microsoft Professional Program for data scientists, followed by cybersecurity specialists and others in the future, to help the state meet its needs.

The State of Illinois is joining the IoT Talent Consortium initiative to accelerate development of IoT-ready workforce. Research giant IDC published a February 2016 white paper on Introducing the Smart State: Illinois Leads the Way (see page 11) and detailed the State's tight alignment with the Consortium’s mission and strategy.
